My personal diary by Paula Santos

Six weeks ago, I had no idea that this situation would get so long. From the street, you can see thousands of lights shining every night, and at eight o’clock you can see people on the balconies applauding all those people who work every day to find a cure for this disease. In my case, I can say that I'm lucky. Unfortunately, in my fourteen, I still can’t go out, but I know the best thing for everyone is that we stay at home. On the first day, I set out to establish a routine with the goal of not taking confinement as a closure, but as an opportunity to do everything that time had not allowed me to do. I remember very well when I was in class and the Head of Studies informed us that we would not be back for a long time. It was clear that we should not take it as a holiday. Home-learning seemed much better to me than the day to day at school, I take advantage of the hours more than ever, and I have learned that it is not necessary to know many things, but those which you want to really know. In fact, my sociability with neighbors has improved. Besides making new friends and finding qualities in myself that I didn’t know, I enjoyed the solitude and got to know myself better. In terms of fitness, I do very well, I spend about an hour a day. I’ve improved in all aspects of the sport, I’ve continued with online extracurriculars, and thanks to YouTube I’ve been able to do new forms of training. If I could highlight any of these confinements, it would be how the simplest details have become the protagonists of our days. I mean, it has coincided with Easter and my brother’s birthday, and nothing has stopped us from having fun and enjoying every moment. It is clear that not everything will return to the normal way, because some things are permanent, and everything will be different when the confinement ends. Although no one can go back and make a new beginning, anyone can start from now on and create a new end.
